Introducing Angeline Woodson, Ph.D., LPC

Dr. Angeline Martin Woodson is a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor.  She is also a National Certified Counselor.   Dr. Woodson received her bachelor’s of science degree from North Carolina State University in 1989.  She received her master’s of science degree from East Carolina University in Child Development and Family Relations in 1992.  She received her doctorate in Human Services with a focus in Professional Counseling from Capella University in 2002. 

 Dr. Woodson has worked as a Mental Health Therapist for over 15 years specializing in diversity and multicultural counseling.  She has vast experience in working with children and adolescences.  She has spent over 10 years of her career working with addictions, adult survivors of dysfunction, grief and bereavement issues, parenting issues, self esteem issues, transitional issues, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and victims of domestic violence.  Dr. Woodson is a veteran as well as the spouse of a retired Marine.  She has a host of experience working with military personnel and their families.    

 In addition to therapy, Dr. Woodson has spent ten years as a college professor in the area of Early Childhood Education.  She has taught at Central Texas College, University of Maryland, Central Carolina Community College, Mount Olive College and University of Phoenix.  Her research interests are infant-toddler mental health, children reared by same gender parents, socio-emotional development of children and holistic approach to child care.  In addition to research, Dr. Woodson presents at numerous professional conferences and workshops.
