Introducing
Steve Jack, LCSWSteve Jack is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed to practice in North Carolina. He earned his BA in Human Communications from West Virginia University in 1982. Steve attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work earning a Masters of Social Work in 1997. Since that time, he has worked for various mental health clinics and organizations. He gained experience as a crisis intervention counselor while at Alamance County Mental Health in Burlington, NC. Steve worked at Eckerd Youth Alternatives (a wilderness camp for teens) in Manson, NC as a youth and family counselor. He has experience providing psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults and families in the clinic setting and also in the home, schools and communities. His approach to therapy includes elements of Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness training, Self-awareness training, confidence building and life skills training.
Steve has extensive experience with Tourette Syndrome. He was diagnosed himself at age 32. Having the disorder his entire life and learning to cope and adjust led him to a career in Clinical Social Work. Steve is also on the steering committee for the Raleigh/Durham chapter of the Tourette Syndrome Association where he helps to organize events and conduct support groups. He is also trained in a special technique called Comprehensive Interventions for Tics (CBIT). A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association on May 19, 2010, reports on the effectiveness of CBIT. You can read the article at:

Steve is a part-time professional musician performing locally as a guitarist and singer. He enjoys most outdoor activities including hiking, camping, climbing and cycling.
