Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Ph.D. Psychologist
Dear Applicant or Interested Party,
If you are reading this page, then you are probably curious about possible employment as a therapist with Cary Counseling Center. This page is designed to trade information, from us to you and you to us, with a minimum of time and effort. At the bottom of this page is a brief internet "e-interview" about the very basics of your background and situation. However, you will probably want to know more about us and the position before you do anything laborious.
About us:
We are a psychological corporation (legally named Allied Psychological Services) that evolved from the psychological practice of Dr. Bryce Kaye started in 1984. All current contracted therapists are independent contractors. We are very well known in the Cary-Apex community and enjoy an excellent relationship with managed care companies, physicians, and EAP referral sources. To get to know us better, we recommend that you visit our very detailed website and review our staff, services, and other features. After reviewing our website, you will need to again type in the URL for this page so that you can complete the e-interview below.

About the position:
The following are absolute requirements to qualify for the position:
* Current (and not pending) licensure as LCSW or Lic. Ph.D Psychologist in NC.
* Malpractice insurance coverage of $ 1 Mil. / $ 3 Mil.
* Current residency in NC
As stated before, the position is that of independent contractor and not employee. Most contracted therapists have started off part-time and have gradually built their case-loads. For that reason, many have started with part-time employment elsewhere. We are in a good position to help build therapists' practices as we enjoy excellent relations with much of managed care. Each therapist gets promoted on the internet and receives some referrals via cross-referring within the center.
Compensation is based on monthly collections from services rendered. The starting contract is paid at 60 % of credited monthly collections (minus associated credit card bank charges). At any time, a therapist may switch to a higher risk contract that pays up to 68 % of credited monthly collections depending upon certain criteria for collection level. The latter high risk contract only begins to look favorable when a therapist collects above approx. $3,500 per month. Otherwise, it pays poorly for "down" months.
Support services to therapists involve the following:
Office availability to see patients and expand caseload
Automated billing to 3rd party and patients
Monthly accounting reports on activity, collections, problem insurance
24 hr. live answering service
Internet promotion on website
Automated systems for initial letters to doctors and referral sources
Automated outcome and follow-up monitoring system
Copying and limited typing
Telephone and long-distance related to business
Yellow page listing for Cary
The following are left to the responsibility of the contracted therapists:
Business cards
Licensure fees, malpractice insurance fees
Alpha-pager
Patient progress reports and treatment plans sent to managed care companies
Correcting collection problems with managed care companies after receiving problem insurance report
Professional development, CEU's, books, etc.
